What's New with Entrprise Income Verification (EIV) and TRACS

By: Deborah Gershen Gennello, Moderate Income Management Company

In January 2009, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) published a final rule aimed at streamlining the process of upfront income verification of assisted families, including the use of the Enterprise Income Verification (EIV) System. The rule's goal is to reduce errors and overpayment of subsidies caused by incorrect income determinations and rent calculations in HUD's public and assisted programs. Proper income determination and cost controls are key determinants of the level of federal assistance for operating subsidies. TRACS is a HUD computer system developed to help improve financial controls over assisted housing programs by automating manual procedures and incorporating automated controls. Owners and Agents must maintain a 90% on time compliance in order to have their voucher payments continued. Spend an hour with Deborah Gershen Gennello on Wednesday, May 26 at 10:45am and learn what's new with EIV and the secure server, follow a step by step guide through the different modules in EIV and TRACS to assure compliance with this new HUD mandate.
