Leasing Up in a Down Market

By: Lawrence Berry, CPM, Magic, Message and Motivation

Most markets today are struggling, to say the least. As we fight for occupancy and income, keeping our teams motivated can be even more important. This workshop brings the two primary factors of higher income and occupancy to the forefront; resident retention and maximizing lease potential.  First, resident retention is the key to success.  We have got to start looking at renewals as an event, and think of it as a process. We all know this, however, finding the key ingredients and focusing on the key aspects of this process can make the difference between meeting goals and only watching them as a number.  Second, how do we maximize lease potential?  There are 10 key steps to leasing, and they begin with the basics.  How does personalizing the visit lead to more leases?  Why is it we know about follow-up, but fail to use the tools available in this process? This and more will be revealed in this session.
